    This is a leadership position with Complex Sports & Entertainment at the property level. All leadership positions at the property level are focused on providing world-class customer service, acquiring new clients, maintaining relationships and business with current clients, and marketing the property as a premier entertainment destination.

    Reports to: President, Complex Sports & Entertainment

    Job purpose

    The General Manager (GM) position is responsible for planning and implementing sales, marketing and product development programs- both short and long range targeted toward existing and new markets. This position is also responsible for the overall coordination of all events for Complex Sports & Entertainment held at the property. The GM provides professional client services support in the planning, organization and management of all operations within the facility and the monitoring of the logistics for these events. The GM supports various aspects of event coordination once events are booked through the conclusion of the event.


    Duties and responsibilities

    Business Development

    • Develops and implements strategic marketing plans, sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and services in the venue tours, experiences, special events and major events categories.
    • Develops and manages sales/marketing operating budgets.
    • Ensures effective control of marketing results, and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives falls within designated budgets.
    • Plans and oversees property advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media and direct mail, in coordination with the property marketing department(s).
    • Develops and recommends product positioning, packaging and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
    • Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.
    • Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
    • Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
    • Establishes and maintains relationships with regional influencers and key strategic partners.
    • Guides preparation of property marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
    • Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events, in correlation with the property marketing department(s).
    • Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
    • Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and marketing programs.
    • Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative(s) with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
    • Assists other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.
    • Prepares periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales and areas of proposed client base expansion.
    • Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotes and plans to determine effectiveness.

    Venue Operations

    • Directs and supervises all Event Services staff.
    • Meets and consults with client groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and/or events.
    • Coordinates activities with the various service contractors for assigned meetings and/or events.
    • Guides clients in preparation of events by interpreting and explaining contract provisions, policies and procedures.
    • Keeps clients informed as to the status of deadline schedules, including but not limited to floor plan submissions, meeting room set-up specifications, insurance requirements and other relevant details.
    • Communicates event details to all required internal and external contacts to ensure events are effectively coordinated exceed customer expectations.
    • Prepares cost estimates and monitors final billing.
    • Provides clear, concise, and timely communication of detailed requirements to operational departments.
    • Oversees all aspects of facility operations related to events.
    • Monitors and supervises facility set-up when necessary.
    • Responsible for quality communication between clients and facility departments during all phases of planning the event, during the event and closing the event.
    • Follows-up on all client requests, concerns, and problems.
    • In conjunction with Complex Sports & Entertainment policies, ensures all event requirements have been implemented according to company quality standards.
    • Ensures customer satisfaction throughout event planning process and during events.
    • Develops standard operating procedures for the Event Services Department and monitors their compliance.

    General Requirements

    • Assists in annual budget preparation for property.
    • Hires, trains and evaluates all Event Services staff.
    • Maintains positive employer/employee relations and labor relations.
    • Recognizes employees who meet or exceed expected levels of performance.
    • Identifies corrective action procedure needs for employees whose performance or conduct does not meet required levels.
    • Conducts performance appraisals.
    • Other duties assigned.

    Sales Account Executive

    Reports to: Manager of National Sales

    Job purpose

    The Sales Account Executives with Complex Sports & Entertainment will maximize revenue opportunities for Complex’s growing portfolio of venue partners and events by driving sales leads, identifying group sales opportunities, advancing event contracts and managing long-term relationships with event clients.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Oversees the customer sales experiences from initial event discussions, event negotiations, sales advancement and hand-over to the event operations team.
    • Works with event operations team to identify unique group sales opportunities at Complex’s event properties.
    • Ensures billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill.
    • Coordinates and communicates verbally and in writing with customer (internal and external) regarding event details prior to execution of the agreement.
    • Follows up with customer post-event and provides post-event survey.
    • Makes presence known to customer at all times during the event life cycle.
    • Remains consistently visible and available to the client in order to solve problems and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements.
    • Identifies operational challenges associated with his/her group and works with Complex staff and customer to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions.
    • Conducts pre- and post-event meetings as required to review/communicate group needs and feedback.
    • Coordinates food and beverage discussions, menu tastings and delivery of F&B experience alongside property catering team, where applicable.
    • Solicits feedback from key stakeholders to identify areas for improvement to enhance the customer’s experience.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Event Designer

    Job title: Event Designer

    Reports to: Vice President – Sporting Events

    Job purpose

    The Event Designer will produce drawings, diagrams and graphic packages for sporting & athletic events, as well as, concerts, hospitality, and various other events in Complex SE’s growing portfolio. Additionally, the Event Designer will be called upon to participate in various stages, including: concept, design, development, and implementation. This position will work out of Complex SE’s Denver office and will require travel to various event sites across the country during planning and operations.     Duties and responsibilities

    In-Office responsibilities:

    • Manage and organize production of drawings, diagrams, and graphic packages for sporting, athletic, and various other events. This will include both technical drawings, as well as, customer facing maps and diagrams.
    • Utilize understanding of building code and work with local permitting agencies on design solutions that accommodate local codes and meet the requirements of the event.
    • Maintain an up-to-date record or fixtures, furniture, and equipment that is being planned for the event.
    • Work with company leaders to develop and maintain firm’s best practices and standards for event design and delivery.

    Onsite responsibilities:

    • Update drawings, diagrams, and graphics, as needed or requested
    • Document on-site production and produce as-built drawings
    • Oversee event build-out projects to ensure progress is on time, within budget, and meets requirements of the event
    • Coordinate with various vendors
    • Assist with operational logistics of the event, that include both front-facing and back-of-house operations.
